Sometimes I am a good cook.

Usually though I am just cooking for me and I am lazy.

Grilled cheese is my specialty in case you are wondering... grilled cheese and fried eggs... not together... 

but they are the things I cook the very best.

It is this kid's birthday.  He is 10.

That is ABSURD.

He is also the weirdest kid I know... but I still love him.

I can't say I remember the day he was born (I MAY have been on a beach somewhere in Brazil),

but I remember an awful lot of laughs and ridiculousness since then.

This year we got that extra day you know... and here in Ohio it was an AMAZING one...

But I spent most of it at work... however, I did see a pretty amazing sunset over the Englewood Dam on my way to Kroger.  Yay for pretty sunsets...

Boo for it making me long for the woods!

I have waited and waited for folks to go to Fusian with me... finally I just caved in and went on my own.

Let me just say that lunch today at the 'bux?  WAY better than usual.  Seriously I love Fusian.  Seriously.

On top of this thing... for today!

I visited Great Miami Outfitters... you know, to just BE in a place full of outdoor gear I cannot afford but desperately want.  =)

Alas, I bought me some new shoes!  These are my shoes for my next big trek.  I CANNOT WAIT.  Then to top it off I came home and googled them (they are from a company I wasn't familiar with)... and they are not only made by a great small company in Montana (hello Bozeman!  I still love you!), they are also SUPER committed to sustainable development, environmental well being, and generally protecting the trails. SO now, I am in love with them... hopefully my feet will be in love with them too!  I am going to wear them tonight to Kroger... here's hopin it goes well!

It was Carol's Birthday and we celebrated with some of the fam at Giuliani's.  Our family used to love this place when it was just down the street in Englewood and called Anticoli's.  The new place isn't the same, but the food is good and it's really nice.  Change is good.

This afternoon I was supposed to be doing my taxes.  In the end I did finish my federal ones (WOO HOO!) but alas, Pinterest sucked me in and I still need to work on state and local.  Darn you Pinterest.

The lovely Becky Gray went on a trip with me once.  We flew in an airplane where Becks learned that I LOVE airplane cookies.  We met for a quick dinner (with the lovely Charlotte Gray) tonight and BECKS BROUGHT ME COOKIES.  Same as you get on the airplane.

BECKY GRAY IS THE BEST!  She remembered... LOVE.

It is not fun.

However, I can literally sit for hours and do nothing.  Seems like a waste of my time, 

but when the baggers are really annoying inside I don't mind it too much.

A few years ago I visited Antigua, Guatemala and held orphanage babies for a week.

It changed my perspective.

I was digging in my boxes and found this painting that used to hang in my office.

I got it in Antigua.  I love it.

So I hung it up... to remind me of those little babes.

I am still cleaning.  I have a LOT of stuff.  As the process continues, I now have multiple boxes and tubs of clothes and other things that I don't want.  I need to get rid of them.  Garage sale?  Coming soon!  I hope!

Usually I make the lovely butterfly cookies for each Chrysalis weekend.

The process of making those cookies took an unexpected turn and instead this time I made rice krispie butterflies.  Cheaper, faster, but not nearly as lovely.

Today a lady came through my line at Kroger.  

She bought Twix mini ice cream bars.

She opened them up and gave me and my bagger each one.

AMAZING.

Today I got my partner card in the mail from Starbucks.

I know... how jealous are you?!

Really though... its just a fancy, official way of saying... don't forget to get a pound of coffee each week.

It's my older sister's 37th birthday today.  We went to TGI Friday's to celebrate.

Not my favorite restaurant... but we had fun and ate lots of cake and spinach dip (random combination, I know).  None the less... Happy Birthday Kristin!
